Kind of worked, except the soldiers shot each other in the ass with them and they had to be withdrawn! Those that survive have not been loved so this ones a delight, in rare working condition and original excellent condition. Idea was to drill recruits loads without the use of real ammo. The idea was kind of good - cycle the bolt to cock it the same as per a No4, then pull tight into the shoulder (sprung butt plate prevents the trigger firing if not in tight) and aim at a target half an inch away of the barrel, pull the trigger and a dart comes up and out of the end to pierce the target where you were aiming.
